The Hype cycle is a widely used image intended to demonstrate the overall life cycle of new technology, as it moves from a very promising idea to a proven and fully adopted tool. When a revolutionary and potentially world-changing technology hits public consciousness, the “hype” around potential applications skyrockets and a rush to apply or find this (usually) little-known new technology quickly unfold.
